I'll just say that every action movie Die Hard with a Vengence, Casino Royale, etc, etc. all suck now. This is the kind of movie that makes you glad that you are alive to be able to see it, I have never seen a movie like this before.

This movie cheered me out of my post Dragoncon blues, it was probably more fun then I had all weekend at Dragoncon which is no small feat.

I won't spoil the whole movie but one of my favorite one liners is this "What's the difference between a porcupine and an expensive car? The pricks are inside the car".

Saw a screening of Transformers tonight.
The CGI was amazing, any scene with transformers in it was great. Thats the whole point with this movie, it delivered where it counted, and what everyone wanted to see most, big ass robots blowing shit up.

The movie is laughing at itself it seems with the silliest characters and cliches, the message I get from it is don't look for a story here because I'm a douchebag director and these are freakin toy robots after all people.

After thinking about it, and seeing what they can acomplish with CGI, it is quite a shame as for all intents and purposes this was TRANSFORMERS on the screen, but it could have been so much more epic if the story wasn't worse then a typical episode of the animated series or the animated movie from the 80's.

Went to a screening of the new Die Hard movie last night, was better then I expected. A very good non stop action movie.

Transformers is next.

If anyone even looks at my journal or cares, there is a free screening of the new Harry Potter movie in Atlanta this Thursday at the Landmark Cinema off Monroe at 7:00pm. If you go, definately get there as early as you possibly can, you have to wait but it's free and you get to see it almost 2 weeks early. Here is the link http://www.myspace.com/blackcurtain you have to make a myspace account and link the Harry Potter movie myspace in your top 10 friends or something like that.

Got a chance to see a screening of 1408 last night. It was a decent movie, and I rather enjoyed it. I think it's effective since it feels like you join the main character on his adventure in the movie, if you start trying to analyze and figure out the twist or whats going to happen next, the character is pretty much doing the same thing, so when you think about how to escape this room like breaking a wall or anything that you'd think about trying it's addressed and really helps make the movie scarier. Poltergiest meets the Cube would probably be a good way to describe the film.

Probably the best Highlander story since the 1st movie.
